The Valparaiso Gymnastics Club offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to participate in Gymnastics. The mission is to provide a safe, positive environment for students to learn Gymnastics skills, as well as self-confidence, self-discipline, goal-setting, perseverance, cooperation, teamwork, flexibility, strength, agility, balance, and coordination. Each student will work to improve her physical abilities to her highest potential.
Students age 5 and older may enroll in an hour-long class which will teach basics in each of the four events. Students will be grouped according to age and ability, and may enroll in more than one class each session.
Girls age 5 and older who are interested in entry-level competition will learn the new Level 2 routines on each event. Practices are held twice a week for two hours; team members are required to compete in 2-3 scheduled meets per session.
LEVEL 3 TEAM
Gymnasts must try out for this team, which will compete in intrasquads, as well as 4-6 meets outside our gym during the year. Practices are 3 times a week, for 2.5 hours.
LEVEL 4-10 TEAM
Gymnasts must try out for this team at each level and are required to compete in approximately 6-7 meets during the year. Spring meets are also available. Gymnasts may qualify for State, Regional, and National competition. Practices vary from 3-4 times per week for 2.5 hours.
Training Team: June - August: Monday-Wednesday-Friday 8:30-10:30
Level 3 : June through August - Monday-Tuesday- Wednesday-Thursday 8:30-10:30
Level 4 and up: Schedule varies during summer
