This year, Ben Franklin Middle School is launching Game On! The Ultimate Wellness Challenge a year-long program that challenges America’s youth, their families and schools to incorporate healthy food choices and physical activity into their daily lives. The program consists of a series of theme-based challenges spaced throughout the school year to engage and recognize students and the adults who support them for their efforts to make better food choices and move more. The following websites offer many ideas on how you and your family can help your child make better choices.
“The Valparaiso middle schools provide a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where students are empowered to take an active role in their own education and to reach their potential. We believe all students… need to be provided a solid academic foundation which includes communication, research, and technology skills… need skills to adapt, compete, and continue learning in an ever-changing society…need to feel valued and respected as individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds while developing character, citizenship, and responsibility.”
