New Students
The Valparaiso Community Schools provides public school education for resident children of Center Township in Porter County, Indiana.
Book rental fees are due in full at the beginning of each year. Families who qualify for free lunches automatically qualify for textbook assistance.
Enrolling a New Student
Contact the staff at the Ben Franklin Middle School to determine the school to which your child will be assigned.
Contact the secretary at your child’s new school to schedule an appointment with a Guidance Counselor.
Visit the new school and bring the following documents:
child’s birth certificate
verification of immunizations
proof of residency
legal custody papers (if applicable)
unofficial transcript or home-based report card
name and address of previous school
After your child is properly enrolled, the school will contact the previous school to request copies of official records and standard test results.
