Flint Lake Elementary School is an amazing community of students, teachers, and parents working together for the betterment of all students. At its core are the relationships that make a difference in a child’s life. Relationships with their peers, relationships with their teachers, relationships with their parents, and relationships between home and the school—all are critical to the education of the whole child. What parent doesn’t wish success for the child? What teacher doesn’t strive for learning to occur?
What child doesn’t grow excited by the curiosity and wonder of the world? Together, we are going to work hard, have fun, and support each other in order to maximize the academic and personal growth for every child.
A bit about myself: I have had the great fortune to work in Valparaiso Community Schools for 12 years, both as an English teacher and an administrator at the high school. I have earned a B.A. in English from Wabash College, a Masters in English from Purdue, a Masters in Education from Ball State, and a Ph.D. in Education from Purdue. In addition to education, I enjoy reading, golfing, and riding my bike (don’t be surprised to see me pedaling through the neighborhood on the way to Flint!). Most of all, my wife, Leslie, and I are the proud parents of two Flint Lake students, Shannon and Connor. Our family truly enjoys being a part of Valparaiso, and we look forward to seeing everyone at school and local events.
