Scheduled eLearning
The 2026-27 Board-Approved School Calendar currently includes two scheduled eLearning days: Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and Tuesday, May 4, 2027. Should inclement weather or some other environmental factor disrupt a school day prior to February 12, 2027, an eLearning day may be deployed on February 13, 2027, or March 29, 2027. eLearning lessons will be posted no later than 4:00p the day before the scheduled eLearning day.
Should any further unforeseen environmental factors (e.g., weather, health crisis) force school closures beyond the established "make-up" days built into the calendar, VCS will consider implementing additional eLearning days as a viable option to limit the disruption to student learning.
Important eLearning Hallmarks
- Scheduled eLearning assignments will be posted by 4:00 p.m. on the evening before the day of eLearning.
- Time on task will vary depending on the grade, class, teacher, and subject area.
- Attendance will be based on student participation and submission of work.
- Teachers will provide a checklist in Canvas that is easily accessible to students and families and highlights the required activities to be completed during eLearning.
- Teachers will be available via digital communication (e.g. email, Viking Connect, etc.) to answer questions during designated office hours.
