"Spring Into The Arts" Key Dates

Valparaiso Community Schools, led and coordinated by the elementary art team, provides a month-long celebration of the ARTS featuring student talent!  We are proud to announce “Spring into the @rts” has returned to downtown Valpo.  Our goal has always been to put student artwork front and center within our downtown venues, bridging young artists, families, leaders, and businesses alike.  This is our 5th year orchestrating this student-themed festival and we have an array of ART-astic things in store this year!  Valpo is where ART is @!

We extend a huge thank you to our financial supporters: Urschel and The John Anderson Foundation, also in partnership with The City of Valpo and Valparaiso Creative Council.  Thank you to our featured venues: Porter County Library, City Hall, 1st Insurance, Porter County Government, 1st Source Bank, the Parks Department, Black Bird Cafe, and ArtZ and Co.

“We are happy to bring back our month-long festival after a two year creative pause,” says Jessica Corral, festival director and art teacher at Flint Lake Elementary.  “When children step into a collective experience where THEIR art is appreciated in public places, they are simply floored to be chosen.  Our goal has and always will be to keep the spotlight on their talent, and their artwork makes it easy to do just that! It is time for a celebration of students of all ages!”

VCS students grades K-12 can start submitting their 60 second films across 5 categories for our Valpo Film Festival.  Deadline is May 6, 2022 by midnight. Visit springintothearts.com for info.
