Dear VCS Community,
We wanted to provide an update on the missed school days due to the August 11 storm. After conversations with the Indiana Department of Education, we are pleased to share that Valparaiso Community Schools will NOT have to make up any additional school days.
The IDOE has informed us that the additional instructional minutes already built into our school calendar will account for the missed days. Northview Elementary School, which was closed for an extra day due to extended power outages, was granted a waiver for that missed day and will not have to make it up.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigated the aftermath of the storm. We are proud to see all the great things happening in our schools and look forward to a successful school year.
