Child Protective Services (CPS) - Reporting

 

Indiana Code 31-33-5-2 requires school employees to immediately report suspected child abuse or neglect to the Department of Child Services (DCS) or to a local law enforcement agency.  The reporter must then notify the principal or the principal's designee that a report has been made.  The person who first suspects child abuse or neglect must be the one to report the matter immediately.
