Little Vikes Swim Academy

Why the schedule changes for the 2025 Summer Lessons?
Every year, we review Little Vikes Learn-to-Swim to see what we did well, what we could do better, and how to continue growing our program. We are constantly striving to improve Little Vikes LTS. One core principle of Little Vikes LTS and Valparaiso Community Schools is to ensure we continue to give exposure and opportunity to as many Little Vikes as possible. One of the ways we have looked at doing this has been scheduling adjustments. We have continued to collect data on this and look at how this would work within our available time frames. With all that said, sometimes obstacles present themselves and force you to make a change, and that is what has happened this year.

With the goal of continued safety for our students, Valparaiso Community Schools, the Valparaiso Police Department, and the Valparaiso Fire Department have scheduled a multi-day safety training that falls during Little Vike's standard summer session dates and times. This training includes real-life scenario sessions at Valparaiso High School. With this kind of real-life scenario training, we have been instructed that no one can occupy the school during the training times. This training presented us with an excellent opportunity to "jump into the water," so to speak, and accelerate some changes we have been looking at to allow more exposure and opportunity to our Learn-to-Swim program.

While we have kept things the same for multiple years, we see this opportunity as a way to continue evolving and growing Little Vikes LTS while still adhering to high-quality instruction, repetition of session days, and value compared to our competition—all things that make Little Vikes what it is. Change is not always easy, and we appreciate and understand that, but rest assured that our high standards and expectations will never change!
