Unfortunately, Northview Elementary School is still without power so Northview Elementary will be closed Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
All other Valparaiso Community Schools will be opened on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Again Northview Elementary School will be closed tomorrow. There will be more communications tomorrow about Northview Elementary School for Wednesday.

VCS has made very good progress today. All schools except Northview are now fully powered and operational and will be open tomorrow.

There will be an update on the status of Northview Elementary later tonight at 7:30 pm, should the power outage be fixed.

Again, all Valparaiso Schools will be open tomorrow except for Northview Elementary School. An update will take place tonight at 7:30 pm on the status of Northview Elementary School.

Out of an abundance of caution, Valparaiso Community Schools will be closed on Monday, August 17, 2026. Unfortunately, there are still too many power outages in our buildings and some homes. Safety is always our first priority for our students and staff. Our hope is to be in session on Tuesday, August 18th. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding during these extremely unique circumstances.
