INDIANA PUBLIC RETIREMENT SYSTEM

INPRS - Effective July 1, 2011, in accordance with Indiana law, the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) is established. INPRS will administer and manage TRF, PERF, as well as other public employee funds. Each of the funds remained separate and are administered by the nine-member board of trustees of INPRS. TRF - The Teachers Retirement Fund was created by the Indiana General Assembly in 1921. Since its establishment, the laws governing the administration of TRF have changed and expanded to respond to the needs of its members.
PERF - The Public Employees' Retirement Fund was created on July 1, 1945, to provide secure, long-term pension benefits for Hoosiers who choose careers in public service.
